For over 25 years, Jamal Crawford has captured the hearts of basketball fans with his skills both on the court and behind the mic. Whether he's playing or commentating, J-Crossover never fails to entertain and excite viewers.
The 3-time Sixth Man of the Year enjoys educating fans about the game and is eager to debut “Courtside Crawsover,” a new alternate game telecast hosted by Crawford and former MLB All-Star Dexter Fowler. The show will stream on NBA League Pass and the NBA app and will tip off Feb. 27 when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves (10:30 ET).
That matchup is the first of three scheduled for “Courtside Crawsover,” which will blend live game analysis with stories, celebrity guest guests and fan interactions, as Crawford and Fowler spotlight the intersection between sports and pop culture.
Crawford, who has previously served as color commentator on NBA broadcasts and HooperVision, looks forward to bringing his basketball expertise and passion for the game to NBA fans with this new alt-cast format.
“We are bringing something totally different. This is an alt-cast like no other,” Crawford said. “We are bringing something cool to you … focused on culture, sport, talking to your favorite celebrities and favorite entertainers.”
Fowler brings a unique perspective as a former World Series champion and 14-year MLB veteran, now sharing his insights as an analyst for MLB Network and Marquee Sports Network since retiring in 2023.
“This is not your regular basketball alt-cast,” Fowler said. “We’re talking everything under the sun like we’re sitting in the living room together. And I guarantee this: we’re going to have some fun and a lot of laughs.”
Additional broadcasts are scheduled for March 21 and April 4, with exact matchups to be announced at a later date.
The duo’s enthusiasm for unveiling ideas to create a fun and unique environment for fans to enjoy games together is contagious. For Crawford, it’s the distinctly original vibe that he’s most excited about.
“We’re going to be bringing something dope to you. Something new. Something fresh,” Crawford said. “You can watch with us and other celebs, breaking down the game, but also having fun talking about music, talking to your favorite celebrities and hearing stories from when they attended games, all here on ‘Courtside Crawsover.’”
